Akeeba eXtract Wizard is a cross-platform program used to extract backup archives. It was available for free with the option of donation but was then discontinued in November 2018 by Akeeba.
The program can extract backup archives in the Zip, JPA, and JPS formats. The interface is straight-forward as it walks you through selecting the archive and choosing the extraction folder, with space to enter the password for a JPS archive and a status bar to view the progress of an extraction. One of the prominent features of the program is that it enables you to perform a "Dry Run," which means you can test an extraction without extracting anything.
eXtract Wizard is a simple utility used to extract Akeeba backup archives in the Zip, JPA, and JPS formats. The program is not intended to compress archives or extract formats other than the ones mentioned. So if you only need it for extracting the indicated backup archive formats, Akeeba eXtract Wizard is a solid option.
